Side Control Escape

My opponent begins by holding me in side control. I first make sure he cannot come over to mount by raising my right leg.

I start my escape by reaching both my hands under his arms and onto my hips.

I then turn my body towards him
and escape my hips outward.

Once enough space is created, I slide my right shin across his belt line and face him, so that our bodies are in line

Close up of above frame.

I then place my feet on his hips and control
both his arms with my hands.

I then close my guard around my opponent,
completing the escape.
