 Guard Pass #1

I start in my opponent's closed guard.  Fist I begin by getting a strong upright posture, my base is wide and my hands are gripping my opponent's gi pants.

I then place my right knee between my opponent's legs and extend my arms outward while creating downward pressure; this action opens my opponent's guard.

Once I have the guard open I take my left arm and wrap it around my opponent's right leg and secure a grip on the left side of his pants.  I do the same thing on the other side.

A closer look

After I have secured my opponent's legs I extend my legs back, placing my weight atop my opponent's torso

I then begin to walk to the side,
keeping constant pressure the whole time.

If my opponent defends the pass by pushing on my hips, I jump to the other side.

After I have bypassed his defense I continue walking to his side.  Once at his side I take my left hand and reach behind his head to create pressure on his upper body so he cannot sit up or push away.

I then release his pants with my right
hand and secure a strong side control.
