Brendan is a lifelong martial
artist who brings a wealth of
experience to Hudson Valley Jiu-
Jitsu. Growing up Brendan
earned a black belt in Tae Kwon
Do and won numerous
championship titles. In his high
school years his focus shifted to
wrestling, where he would earn
over 100 victories, setting a new
record for Carmel High.
After graduation Brendan began
training at the Fighting Arts
Academy and honed his skills in
the art of Muay Thai. Brendan
quickly excelled at the sport and
traveled to Thailand, the birth
place of Muay Thai, to learn the
art from the world’s best
In 2005 Brendan began fighting
in professional Mixed Martial
Arts. His well rounded skills
have allowed him to dominate
opponents both on the feet as
well as on the ground. He is
currently considered one of the
top welterweights in
Massachusetts. A statement to
Brendan’s skill as a fighter, in
2009 Brendan was invited by
Kru Phil Nurse to be a sparring
partner for UFC champion
George St. Pierre as he prepared
to take on Thiago Alves.
